Immerse yourself in a unique experience in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas through the ancestral Wachuma (or San Pedro) ceremony, guided by an Andean shaman master. Surrounded by nature, traditional music, and the energy of sacred sites, you will participate in rituals connecting with Pachamama and the Apus, all within a tranquil setting that fosters introspection, inner harmony, and personal growth. It is a special opportunity to encounter an ancient tradition and undergo a transformative experience in the Peruvian Andes.
5:00 PM – Departure from Cusco
Pick-up from your hotel and private transfer to Taray, a small village in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, surrounded by mountains, farmland, and natural landscapes.
Welcome and Introduction
Upon arrival at the ceremony site, the master shaman will explain Andean traditions, the spiritual significance of Wachuma, and the purpose of the rituals to be performed during the night.
Sacred Fire Ceremony
Around 6:00 PM, the ceremonial fire—a central element of Andean traditions—will be lit. This setting allows for prayers, the setting of personal intentions, and symbolic acts of gratitude toward Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the sacred mountains known as *Apus*.
San Pedro Wachuma Ceremony
The ceremony will be guided throughout by the master shaman and his team. Participants will be accompanied by ancestral music played on traditional Andean instruments, creating an atmosphere conducive to introspection, calm, and connection with nature.
Music, Meditation, and Reflection
Throughout the night, there will be alternating periods of silence, meditation, and traditional music. The natural setting, the sound of the fire, and the tranquility of the Sacred Valley foster a profound experience of contemplation and well-being.
Conversation and Integration of the Experience
Before concluding, there will be a session for conversation where participants can share their experiences and receive guidance regarding the teachings and reflections gained during the ceremony.
Return to Cusco
Private transfer back to the hotel at approximately 10:00 AM the following day.

- Pre-preparation diet: It is recommended to follow a light, clean diet for 2 to 3 days beforehand (avoiding red meat, dairy, irritants, sugars, alcohol, medications, and drugs) to facilitate the body's detoxification.
- Very warm thermal clothing: Temperatures in the Sacred Valley drop drastically during the early morning hours. Bring layered clothing, a heavy thermal coat, a hat, gloves, thick socks, and a small blanket.
- Health declaration: Notify us in advance of any pre-existing medical or psychiatric conditions, as well as the use of prescription medications.
- Basic personal items: Bring a small flashlight (preferably a headlamp), a bottle of pure water, and tissues.
Where do you spend the night during this activity?
The experience takes place outdoors and within the ceremonial center at Taray throughout the evening, alternating between meditations, ancestral music, and periods of rest around the sacred fire.
At what time and where does the excursion end the next day?
Private transport drops you back at your hotel in the city of Cusco at approximately 10:00 a.m. the following day, so it is recommended to book accommodation in Cusco to rest that afternoon.
What clothing is most suitable for attending the ritual?
Wear loose-fitting, comfortable, and warm clothing, preferably in light or neutral tones. Avoid wearing unnecessary accessories or tight-fitting garments.
What is the main difference between the Ayahuasca ceremony and the Wachuma ceremony?
Wachuma (San Pedro) is a sacred Andean cactus with an expansive nature—active by both day and night—that typically focuses healing on the connection with nature, the opening of the heart, and the surrounding environment, guided in this instance by fire and the Andean worldview.
